MS Science / HS Computers
I graduated from USD with a major in Elementary Education and a minor in Physical Education. My teaching career has included many different assignments and varied grade levels. Currently, I am teaching 6th, 7th and 8th grade science, 7th grade social studies, as well as high school computer classes. I will also will be teaching a high school P.E. class this springÖa surprise to many, but recall my minor! Prior to this, Iíve taught 6th grade, 1st grade, 2nd grade, elementary computer classes, and some high school business classes.
My husband, Kerry, and I have two children. Michael and his wife, Sarah, live here in Gettysburg and have three children. Courtney and Dillon live in Philip and have two boys. Kerry, Michael, Courtney, and I are all graduates of GHS and value the education we received in such a great school district.
For me, teaching provides an opportunity for continual learning and growth. My desire for continued learning lead me to get my Masterís Degree in classroom instruction from NSU. I feel the additional training has been very helpful and enlightening. One of my hopes as an educator is to instill a love of learning in my students, as I share my own passion for education with them.
My goals are to prepare the middle school students for high school, and to enable my high school computer students to be technology proficient in the Microsoft Office suite. I sincerely hope that all of my students experience some degree of growth and success this year.
