Speech Language Pathologist
My name is Julie Williams and I am in my 14th year of working for the Gettysburg School District as Speech Language Pathologist. I grew up in Sioux Falls, SD and then attended undergraduate and graduate school at the University of South Dakota. My husband, Nathanael, and I have two boys, Max and Thomas.
I chose the field of Speech Language Pathology during my years at O’Gorman High School in Sioux Falls. During my studies there I met an amazing mentor in the field at Children’s Home Society. I have tried my best to carry out her principles and ideals throughout my career. My beliefs center on looking at the child as a whole. As an educator I must know everything about what is going on in that child’s life in order to best serve them in a healthy way. I work with a diverse population ages birth to 21 and I enjoy every stage of growth.
My classroom is warm and welcoming. I have 2 quotes hanging on my walls and they most accurately sum up my beliefs about my profession.
1. I believe in you
2. I trust in you
3. You are listened to
4. YOU ARE LOVED
5. You are important
6. YOU WILL SUCCEED
“Not being able to speak is not the same as not having anything to say.”
Thank you for your time!
