Trace, a 6th grader, was diagnosed with an SCFE and underwent surgery last week on both hips. He will be wheelchair bound for the next 4 weeks.
Corbin, a former student at GHS, was diagnosed previously with Guillain-Barre Syndrome and had another flare this fall.

This week, we’re recognizing junior Jack Simon!
Jack found the end zone FOUR times Friday night and racked up over 300 all-purpose yards! His effort with the ball in his hands was matched by a dominant defensive performance, showing his nose for the ball and ability to finish tackles.
Week after week, Jack shows why he’s a team captain. He leads by example, plays with relentless effort, and gives his team everything he’s got.

This past week the 3rd Graders took a trip to Mrs. Hansen's Book Cafe! Students were introduced too many different series of chapter books. The goal of the Book Cafe is to help students start transitioning towards reading more chapter books, and finding a good fit book for their interest and level!
On Friday, Mrs. Hansen's 3rd grade class took a trip back to the manor to decorate and build bird houses with the residents!
The JV game is back on for tomorrow night at 7pm in Gettysburg vs Lemmon. MS will still be playing St. County at 5pm.
The home JV game on Monday, October 5th has been cancelled due to various circumstances. The middle school game will still be played at 5:00pm.

SENIORS: A reminder that the SD Free Application period (Oct. 1-Nov., 30) has started (for all SD colleges and technical colleges). Also, the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for 2027-28 is available now. 1st Step: Students create a FAFSA ID (see poster).
Students in Mrs. Kirby's Biology 2 class created "Skin Cakes" to showcase their understanding of the layers of skin: the epidermis, dermis, and hypodermis. If you see one of these students, ask them about their cake and what they learned!
