For Pig Project parents and students:
Tomorrow is our first clean up day at the pig lot at 3pm. I hope I’m avoiding any church/4-H events with this time and it should be pretty warm!
We will be replacing fencing on the west side of the lot. My classes have pulled the fencing on that side, so we will just have to add the new panels. Please bring shovels (spade shovels will work best), pliers, and hammers. Hopefully, it shouldn't take us too long with enough hands.

Join us Friday, May 8th, to celebrate our student athletes! Thank you to the Booster Club for providing a meal! Meal at 6, then an inspirational message from Holly Hoffman and awards at 7pm.
We had a great turnout for the bike trade today! A total of 18 bikes were available, and 7 have already found new owners.
The remaining bikes will be set outside the Oahe Youth Center on Main Street during the town-wide rummage sale this Saturday. Stop by and take a look if you’re in need of a bike—remember, they are free!

New golf update!! MS/JV golf will be going to Stanley County on Thursday, April 30 instead of Faulkton on Friday, May 1. Start time is 1pm. Leave time is 11am.

MS/JV golf meet in Faulkton has been changed from Monday, May 4th to Friday, May 1st. Start time 1:00pm. Leave time 11:15am.
MS/JV golf will compete in Eureka on May 7th at 12pm. Leave time 10am.
The golf meet that was scheduled for May 8th in Ipswich has been cancelled.
Parents of Gettysburg Athletes,
We have started concussion baseline testing at school this week. Your student athlete will be bringing home important paperwork that requires your review and signatures.
Additionally, physical forms that must be completed by a physician are also in the packet. Please make sure these forms are filled out and returned as soon as possible to ensure your student is eligible for participation this fall.

On April 27, 2026, our 2nd Annual 6th Grade Barter Day brought history to life! Students selected an ancient civilization to research and created unique items to trade with their classmates.
The creativity was incredible—students set up storefronts and came dressed for the occasion. We had everything from bakers and soap makers to jewelry designers and even 3D-printed creations. The sky truly was the limit!

Declan Hanten
This week’s Battler of the Week is Declan Hanten!
Declan continues to improve every single meet, and it’s showing in a big way. This past Saturday, he hit a new personal best in pole vault at 8’7”, and ran the 3200 in 11:23.76 - also a personal best AND a new JH boys school record!👏
Declan is the definition of driven and hardworking. He shows up, puts in the work, and it’s leading to some awesome results.

Last week, the 5th grade class welcomed special guest Brooke Brown to teach students about Law Day 2026. Students explored the Constitution and the Bill of Rights while learning about this year’s theme, “The Rule of Law and the American Dream.”
On Wednesday, the 5th grade class spent the afternoon outdoors cleaning up around the school and nearby park in honor of Earth Day. The beautiful weather made it the perfect day to be outside.
The Middle School kids worked very hard on Earth Day! A great afternoon to be outside and to clean up our parks. Spring has sprung and summer is right around the corner. Don't forget Arbor Day is tomorrow. We are so proud of our town and love seeing it clean and enjoyed by our community!
Battler Fans-The middle school meet scheduled for Monday, April 27, in TimberLake had been postponed. We'll work on scheduling another MS meet and keep you posted. Thanks!
