Good afternoon! We've been struggling to find a good date for the first MS FFA meeting and somewhat planned for tonight, but that will no longer work. Our officer team will update soon with a new date/time. Thank you for understanding! -Mrs. Schofield
🏐 Battler of the Week: Alexis Kellogg 🏐
Alexis had an outstanding week on the court, including her best performance yet Thursday against North Central. She played all five sets with fewer than three errors and no serving or hitting errors!
She carried that consistency into Saturday’s YTC Tournament, where the Battlers finished 2nd, while continuing to encourage and support her teammates.
Alexis’ consistency, work ethic, coachability, and positive attitude make her very deserving of this week’s Battler of the Week!
Congratulations, Alexis! ❤️🤍🖤

The JV Football game scheduled for tonight August 31st has been postponed to a later date. More details coming soon.
Yesterday was a truly a full-circle moment for the Gettysburg community.
DJ Fischer was a cherished member of our community. He was generous, involved, kind, and someone who genuinely cared about the people and places that made Gettysburg home. Following his tragic passing, DJ’s family and friends created the DJ Fischer Foundation to continue that spirit of generosity by giving back to the Gettysburg community in his honor.
Each year, DJ’s Grip It & Sip It brings people together to celebrate DJ’s life and to raise money to continue his legacy of giving.
Yesterday, that legacy came full circle in a way that could not have been more meaningful.
The 1st place ( Pitlick) and 3rd place (Heien) teams generously chose to donate their winnings to The Kindness Cafe, a special project started by DJ’s own niece, Izzy Mikkelsen.
Izzy created The Kindness Cafe as a vocational learning opportunity for students in our Gettysburg Life Skills program. Through the cafe, our students are learning real-world skills like taking orders, handling money, budgeting, communication, time management, responsibility, and so much more. But perhaps most importantly, they have found a place where they can contribute, succeed, and feel an incredible sense of pride and purpose.
And now, because of the generosity of these teams, DJ’s legacy of giving back is directly helping his niece and the very students she works so hard to empower.
To the 1st and 3rd place teams, please know that your generosity means so much more than a donation. You are investing in our students, supporting Izzy’s vision, and helping carry DJ’s spirit of kindness and generosity forward.
We are incredibly, incredibly grateful.
Thank you for helping us keep DJ’s legacy alive in such a meaningful way.

🏈 BATTLER OF THE WEEK: TREYSON ZEIGLER 🏈
Hard work in the offseason shows up when it matters, and this week’s Battler of the Week is a great example of that.
Treyson Zeigler came into the season determined to become the best football player he could be, and the work he put in was on full display Friday night with an outstanding performance for his team.
There’s a lot of season still ahead, and it feels like Treyson is just getting started.
Congratulations, Treyson! ❤️🤍

We’re excited to introduce a new program for all Battler students, PreK–12. The Battler Care Closet will provide hygiene, food, comfort items, and our already-established winter gear and clothing assistance. This program will be run by our Life Skills students and will provide them with wonderful vocational training opportunities.
Our community has always shown up for our students, and now we’re asking for your help stocking the shelves!
Please see the graphics below for our wish lists. We encourage you to shop locally whenever possible-our local businesses give so much back to our schools and community, and we want to support them, too! These items can be dropped off in the school office.
Prefer to help from afar? You can shop our Amazon Wish List (located in the comments), which includes specific ideas for items we need.
**Donation guidelines: We are currently accepting new items in original packaging only. Food should be individually portioned, and meals should be microwaveable, ready-to-eat, and packaged in their own serving container.
Thank you for helping us make sure every Battler has access to the basic things they need to learn, participate, and feel cared for. Please contact Julie Williams or Tricia Heien with any questions.
