Happy Friday, Battlers! The Kindness Café is a special project started by Izzy Mikkelsen, a junior at GHS. Izzy is leading a group of our high school girls in running their very own drink business!
At the beginning of each week, the girls pick 10 staff members to receive drinks. Then, throughout the school, they go face-to-face to take each staff member’s order from the café’s menu. On Friday, the selected staff members get their drinks for just $4 each. This project is about so much more than drinks—it’s teaching life skills like responsibility, teamwork, customer service, and money management, all while spreading kindness throughout Gettysburg School! The Kindness Café is proof that a little kindness (and a good drink!) can go a long way!

Today is National #WhyApply Day!
The goal is to spread the word to students how important it is to get an education past high school.
#WhyApply

Good morning. Due to rainfall amounts, the Battler Invitational XC meet for tomorrow, Saturday, Sept 20th, has been cancelled.
Mr. Jensen was a Mystery Reader in the Kindergarten class Thursday afternoon. The students loved his animated readings of Pete the Cat Rocking in my School Shoes and Froggy Goes to School. They thought it was pretty cool to learn both Mr. Jensen’s dad and son are named Pete and that’s one of the reasons he likes the character so much.

2nd Grade has been studying how animals eat and what they eat. Last week we visited, Mocha, to see what he would eat first, carrot, spinach, or snap peas. We voted and they chose carrot and that’s what he headed to first! Thank you Kindergarten class for helping us with our observation.

GIA BIKE-A-THON NEXT WEEK!

Battlers, due to food truck changes, tomorrow the lunch choices will be chicken bacon ranch calzones and bbq rib sandwich. Friday will be pepperoni pizza and the ham deli sub. Thank you!
Have you seen our cross country athletes in their sharp new gear? We have Heien Seed, LLC. to thank for that! We are grateful for their full funding of new uniforms for cross country and track.
